PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Overfills
Operating Pressure Switch fail-
ure.
Pressure Switch tube off at
Pressure Switch or tub pressure
dome or kink in tubing.
Not draining.
Check Operating Pressure Switch con-
tact and wiring harness connections.
Check Pressure Switch tubing for proper
connection and check for kinks along
length of tubing.
Check pump/drain system. Overfilling
could indicate a failure to drain.
Won’t Spin
Won’t Nutate
Machine or motor controller con-
nections loose.
Drive motor inoperative.
Drive belt broken.
Drive mechanism failure.
Check all harness connectors and wir-
ing terminals.
Check Drive motor windings for conti-
nuity. Check Drive motor for binding.
Check drive belt. Replace as needed.
Check drive pulley, nutate shaft, leveller,
inner wash plate and universal joint.
Machine or motor controller con-
nections loose.
Drive motor inoperative.
Drive belt broken.
Drive mechanism failure.
Check all harness connectors and wir-
ing terminals.
Check Drive motor windings for conti-
nuity. Check Drive motor for binding.
Check drive belt. Replace as needed.
Check drive pulley, basket drive brake
release pawl, spin tube and basket drive
block.
Motor Overheats
Drive Motor failure.
Mechanical binding.
Inadequate voltage supply.
Shield Capacitor Shorted.
Interlock Switch(es) shorted.
Check Drive motor windings for proper
resistances. Check wiring connectors.
Check for free movement of drive
mechanism.
Do not use an extension cord. Check
for 120 VAC at outlet. If voltage drops
when washer is started, contact electri-
cian.
Check Shield Capacitor. If shorted, re-
place lower wiring harness.
Check continuity of front and lower cabi-
net interlock switches. Switches are
normally closed and should show an
open circuit with cabinet panels in place.
