Note:TheParagonIIintegratedsmartcardreadermaynotrecognize
theinsertionofasmartcardwhenthereisconflictwithanexternal
cardreader,includingkeyboardsthatconsistofabuilt‐insmartcard
reader.Whenthereisconflictwithanexternalreader,theLEDonthe
userstation(whichnormallyturnsfrombluetogreenwhenacardis
inserted
)willnotreacttotheinsertionofthecard.
8. Thecardreaderreadsthedataofthecardandtransmitsthedatato
theserver.Followtheserverʹsonscreeninstructions,ifany,to
completetheloginauthenticationprocess.
Formoreinformationoncompletingtheauthenticationprocess,see
theuserdocumentationprovidedwithyoursystemʹsauthentication
softwareorco
ntactyoursystemadministrator.
IMPORTANT:Wheneverthecardreaderisreadingand
transmittingthedata(indicatedbythegreenblinkingLED),do
NOTdoanythingthatinterruptsthetransmission,suchasthe
removalofthecardorCIM,turningofftheParagonswitchor
server,andsoon.Doingthismaycauseabnormalfunctionand
requireyoutorestartallofthedevicesinor
dertoreturntonormal
operation.
TheParagonsystemdoesnotallowyoutoswitchtoanyserver
duringthetransmissionofthecardʹsdata.Whenattemptingtodoso,
thesystemdisplaysthemessagebelowontheOSUI.

andmanagetheserver.
