1-13 Sending Abnormally Thick or Large Sheets
Using the manual feed feature, you can ex-
tend the maximum document width to A2
[23.4”] width, and the maximum document
thickness to 0.4 mm [16 roils]. Manual feed
should also be used for thinner pages than
normal.
If you wish tosendan original that is thicker
than the recommended maximum thick-
ness, you can send it as follows.
1. Push the manual feed button
while placing the document in the
feeder.
Notes: 1.Push the document in until docu-
ment feed starts.
2. Place only one sheet in the
feeder.
2. Dial the destination address, then
press Yes
3. Press
Start
If you have more than one original, place it in
the feeder immediately after the trailing edge
of the previous sheet has been fed in.

Note that two calls are needed to send a very wide original.
(see page 62 for more on Batch Transmission).

You can also transmit an original that is wider
than the document guide; fold it in half and
use the manual feed lever, as follows:
Be sure to use Memory transmission (the
Memory indicator must be lit).
Fold the original in half.
Push the manual feed button while
placing the folded document in the
feeder.
Note: Pushthe document
in until document
feed starts.
Dial,
press Yes , and press
Start
After the original has been fed
through, place it in the feeder
again, the other side facing down.
To use just one call, use Batch Transmission
1. Store the second half of the message using Memory Transmission and Send Later (use Speed Dial
or Quick Dial or this procedure will not work).
2. Store the first half of the message using Memory Transmission, but not using Send Later.
The machine will send the first half, then the second half, without disconnecting the line.
