MANUAL RESET HI-LIMIT INSTRUCTIONS
FOR GAS MODELS WITH PHASE 5 WITH HEATER FAULT
This dryer was manufactured with a burner manual reset hi-limit and tumbler/lint chamber hi-limit thermostat
which is monitored by the Phase 5 computer. If either manual reset thermostat is open prior to start of the drying
cycle, the dryer will start momentarily and then shut down displaying a “heater fault” condition.
If either manual reset hi-limit thermostat opens during a drying cycle, the dryer will display a “heater fault”
condition and will continue to run (with no heat applied) for three (3) minutes or until the drum temperature has
fallen below 100º F (38º C). The heater fault button must be pressed to clear this fault condition. The open
manual reset hi-limit thermostat must be reset “manually” prior to the start of the next cycle.
This hi-temperature condition may be caused due to a restricted exhaust, poor airflow, or improper burner
oven operation.
The location of the manual reset hi-limit is on the right hand side of the burner box and the tumbler hi-limit is
located in the lint chamber area.
WARNING: Discontinue power to the dryer before attempting to reset hi-limit.
IMPORTANT
This dryer is equipped with a burner
hi-limit and tumbler/lint chamber hi-limit
thermostat which must be reset manually.
WARNING: Discontinue power to dryer
before attempting to reset hi-limit.
