1 MAINTENANCE
This chapter describes measures to be taken against trouble with the
counter and a guide to daily maintenance. Read this section carefully
and take appropriate measures against problems.

5.1 Troubleshooting
5.1.1 Error messages
The KA counter displays five kinds of error messages. When an error message is
displayed, check the cause of the error before treating it.
Error display Cause of error Treatment
Error20 The table moved too fast and a
counting error occurred.
Press the Cancel key.
Error30 There was internal memory
overflow.
Press the Cancel key.
Error40 There was a scale error. Press the Cancel key, or replace
the linear scale.
Error60 An internal system error
occurred.
Turn off the main power switch,
then turn it on again after 5
seconds.
5.1.2 Error messages in the addition mode
If an error occurs in a scale unit in the addition mode, the counter displays the following.
E20, E40: If an error occurs on either the Y- or Z-axis, the error message is displayed on
the Y-axis display under the OR condition of the Y- and Z-axis. The d-segment on the most
significant digit is turned on, on the axis on which the error was generated.
