STEAM DRYERS
Clean the steam coil fins. We suggest using compressed air and a vacuum cleaner with brush attachment.
WARNING: A When cleaning steam coil fins, be careful not to bend the fins. If fins are bent, straighten
by using a fin comb which is available from local air-conditioning supply houses.

Remove lint from around basket (tumbler), drive motors, and surrounding areas.
Remove lint from gas valve burner area with a dusting brush or vacuum cleaner attachment.
Clean any lint that may have collected in and around the blower motor casing openings.
IMPORTANT: TO PREVENT DAMAGE, AVOID CLEANING OR TOUCHING IGNITOR
and FLAME-PROBE ASSEMBLY
Remove lint accumulation from inside control box and at the rear area behind control box.
Impellor (fan/blower) shaft bearings should be lubricated using Shell Alvania grease NLGI 2 or its
equivalent. Generically, this grease would be described as an NLGI grade 2 multipurpose industrial with a
lithium thickener and mineral base oil.
6 MONTHS
Inspect and remove lint accumulation in customer furnished exhaust duct work system and from dryers
internal exhaust ducting.
WARNING: THE ACCUMULATION OF LINT IN THE EXHAUST DUCT WORK CAN
CREATE A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD.
WARNING: DO NOT OBSTRUCT THE FLOW OF COMBUSTION and VENTILATION AIR.
CHECK CUSTOMER FURNISHED BACK DRAFTED DAMPERS IN EXHAUST
DUCT WORK. INSPECT and REMOVE ANY LINT ACCUMULATION WHICH
CAN CAUSE DAMPER TO BIND OR STICK.
NOTE: A back draft damper that is sticking partially closed can result in slow drying and shutdown of
the heat circuit safety switches or thermostats.
NOTE: When cleaning dryer cabinets, avoid using harsh abrasives. A product intended for the
cleaning of appliances is recommended.
