About the remote control
The remote control communicates with the main unit using an infrared link 1
between the sensor on the remote control and the sensor on the front of the main
unit.
The remote control can be used up to seven metres away at an angle of 30 2
degrees to the front panel of the main unit.
The remote control will not work if there is something in between the remote 3
control and the main unit. Sunlight or very bright light may mean the remote control
does not work as well as usual.
How to use the remote control
Point the sensor end of the remote control towards the sensor on the front of the 1
main unit.
Press the number buttons for the channel that you want.2
The sensor on the front panel will flash as it receives commands from the remote 3
control.
You can select a setting from the menu to sound a beep when the set-top box has 4
received an instruction from the remote control.
Getting connected
Connecting an aerial
Before you can tune in any TV or radio stations, you must connect an aerial to your unit.
You will get better results using a rooftop aerial. If you are in a strong signal area, a
portable aerial may be suitable. We recommend that for the initial tuning process you
use a fixed aerial to get the strongest signal. Connect the aerial to the unit as shown on
page 9.
Connecting to a power supply
The main unit should only be powered using the AC/DC adapter supplied as shown
opposite. The AC/DC adapter is powered from the 230V AC mains supply.
