What to do if...
Remedying faults
In the event of a fault, try to solve the problem yourself with the aid of
the information provided here. If you use the Customer Service to rem-
edy one of the faults listed here or to remedy an operating fault, the
customer service technician's visit will be subject to a charge, even dur-
ing the warranty period.
• If the fault code E10, E20 or E40 is shown in
the multi display, you may be able to remedy the
fault yourself (see the Faults table below). After
remedying the fault, press the O/s (START/PAUSE) button. If the
fault code is displayed again, inform the Customer Service.
• In the case of all other displayed faults (E and number or letter),
please inform the Customer Service, stating the fault code.
Problem Possible Cause Remedy
The washing machine
does not work.
The mains plug is not
plugged in.
Plug in the mains plug.
The fuse of the building's
wiring is not in order.
Replace the fuse.
The filling door is not cor-
rectly closed.
Close the filling door; The
lock must engage audibly.
O/s (START/PAUSE) but-
ton not pressed long enough.
Press the O/s (START/
PAUSE) button until the pro-
gram begins.
Filling door cannot be
closed.
The child safety feature is set
Cancel the child safety fea-
ture (see Section "Child
Safety Feature“).
The fault code E40 ap-
pears. The display
l (MAIN WASH)
flashes.
The filling door is not cor-
rectly closed.
Close the filling door cor-
rectly.
Restart the program.
