Excessive build-up of foam
To avoid this problem please note:
^
Use only powder detergents, and
carefully follow the manufacturer’s
dosage recommendations.If foaming
still occurs, cut back to 1/2 of the rec
-
ommended dosage.
^
For lightly soiled articles or a small
load, reduce the amount of detergent
accordingly.
^
Pre-soaked items should be rinsed
thoroughly before washing.
It may be necessary to run a short
wash cycle without detergent or clothes
in order to flush excess foam from the
machine. The machine can be run nor-
mally after this procedure.
Lime deposits are visible on
the surface of the drum
^ Use a descaling agent to remove the
deposits. Consult the manufacturer’s
instructions before use to ensure that
the product is suitable for use in
washing machines.
Pilling on fabrics
Normal, everyday wear of certain fab
-
rics causes pilling to occur. The „Gen
-
tle wash“ function should be selected
when washing these fabrics, or use a
program with a higher water level and
reduced agitation to decrease the risk
of further pilling.
Gray, greasy particles cling to
washed laundry
The wash load was heavily soiled with
greasy substances such as cosmetics
or lotions, and the amount of detergent
was insufficient to break down the parti-
cles of grease.
^ In the future, when washing loads of
this nature, add more detergent to
the main wash compartment or use
the pre-wash cycle with detergent.
Before washing the next load, run a
Cottons 140°F program with deter-
gent, but without a load, to clean the
machine.
Laundry washed with liquid
detergent is not clean
Liquid detergent does not contain any
bleaching agents capable of removing
stains such as fruit, coffee or tea.
^
To remove such stains, use a general
purpose powder detergent which
contains oxygenated bleach or en
-
zymes, or pre-treat the laundry.
