What to do, if . . .
With the help of the following notes, minor faults in the performance of the
appliance, some of which may result from incorrect operation, can be put right
without contacting the Service Department.

Repair work to electrical appliances should only be carried out by a
suitably qualified person in accordance with local and national safety
regulations. Repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be
dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for unauthorised work.
The programme does not start
Problem Possible cause Remedy
The display remains
dark.
There is no power to the
machine.
Check whether
– the mains plug is plugged
in and switched on.
– the fuse or circuit breaker
has tripped.
The display shows:
Machine locked
Enter lock code.
The electronic system lock
has been activated.
Enter the code for the
system lock and confirm the
entry. Deactivate the system
lock if you do not wish this
message to appear the
display the next time the
machine is switched on.
There is a fault
message in the
display.
A programme cannot be
started while there is a
fault message in the
display.

Note what is shown in the
display.

Switch the washing
machine off and then
back on again with the s
button. The fault message
will be deleted.
The display is dark
and the Start button
is flashing slowly.
The display has switched
off automatically to save
energy (Stand-by mode).
Press one of the short cut
buttons. Stand-by comes to
an end.
