When media heaves up at feeding
We call the status of heaving media at feeding “cockling”.
When media cockling occurs, check the following items:
When the feeding media is loosened and reached to the floor
The feeding roll media is loosened and reached to the floor if the holder is not properly pressed against the
core of the roll media while the roll media is set to the roll holder on the back side of the printer. when the
feeding media is loosened, please take following measures. Loosen the screw of the right side roll holder and
firmly press the holder against the core of the roll paper and then tighten the screw. (The indication of pressing
power: 15 kgf )
(P.2-9)
Please note that the feeding media is more often loosened under conditions described below.
After printing, when the media is moved backwards against the feeding direction.
When the heavy roll media like the banner material (tarpaulin) is used.
When a remaining length of the roll media reaches low during printing. Or when the remaining length of set
media is already low.
Note/ checking items Measures
Checking media set status (1) Check that the media is set straight and reset it.
Adjusting heater temperature
(1) Raise the pre-heater temperature by 5 to 10 degrees.
(2) Lower all heaters’ temperatures. (When you lower the heater
temperature, drying time may not be enough. Lower the
FEED SPEED.)
Media feeding
(1) For roll media, feed the media by about tens of centimeters
to one meter.
(2) For leaf media, press and perform feed/ back
feed.
Do not leave the media in the heater warm-
ing status
(1) Do not start printing with the media cockled because it may
cause media jam.
Heighten the head
(1) For the thick media, heighten the head from L to M before
printing.
