or not they are linked to SmartLinc. The direct string incorporates the device’s INSTEON I.D.:

INSTEON Direct Commands

1. 0262: starts INSTEON direct string

2. 11217F: INSTEON I.D. of responder device

(11.21.7F)

3. 11: corresponds to INSTEON On command

4. 7F: will turn on device at 50% brightness on-

level

Note that even if you are sending an Off command, you must still enter an on-level code (even though

it will not be used) to keep the direct string the same length.

SmartLinc’s X10 commands break down like this (use the X10 translation table on the next page).

2. 6: corresponds to house code A

3. 6 corresponds to unit code 1

6. 1: length of pause in single-digit seconds;

add them to create pauses longer then 10

seconds (P9P6 for a 15-second pause)
