What to do if...
Remedying faults
In the event of a fault, try to solve the problem yourself with the aid of
the information provided here. If you use the Customer Service for one
of the faults listed here or to remedy an operating error, the Customer
Service technician's visit will not be free of charge, even during the
warranty period.
If the error code C1, C2 or Cd is shown in
the multi-display, you may be able to re-
medy the problem yourself (see the faults
table below).
After remedying the fault, press the button START/PAUSE. If the error
code is shown again, inform Customer Service.
In the case of all other displayed faults (C and number or letter code),
please inform Customer Service, quoting the error code.
Problem Possible Cause Remedy
The washing machine
does not work.
The mains plug is not
plugged in.
Plug in the mains plug.
The fuse of the building's
wiring is not in order.
Replace the fuse.
The filling door is not cor-
rectly closed.
Close the filling door; The
lock must engage audibly.
Button START/PAUSE not
pressed for long enough.
Press the button START/
PAUSE until the program
starts.
The filling door cannot
be closed.
The child safety feature is set
Cancel the child safety fea-
ture (see Section "Child
Safety Feature).
Error code Cd is shown
in the multi-display.
The indicators
PRE WASH, RINSE and
RINSE+ flash.
The filling door is not
correctly closed.
Close the filling door cor-
rectly. Restart the program.
