backingoftheribbonprotectstheprintheadfromwearand
prematurefailureduetoexcessiveabrasion.(Fordirectthermal
printmode,ribbonisnotusedandshould
notbeloadedintheprinter.)
1.Alignthesegmentsoftheribbonsupplyspindle.
2.Placetheribbonrollontheribbonsupplyspindle.
NOTE:Makesurethatthecoreispushedupagainstthestopontheribbon
supplyspindleandthattheribbonisalignedsquarelywithitscore.
Ifthisisnotdone,theribbonmaynotcovertheprintheadentirely
ontheinside,exposingprintelementstopotentiallydamaging
contactwiththemedia.
3.Opentheprinthead.
4.(Optional)Tomakeribbonloadingand
unloadingeasier,makealeaderforyour
ribbonrollifitdoesn’talreadyhaveone.
5.Tearoffastripofmedia(labelsand
backing)about6-12”(152-305mm)long
fromtheroll.Peeloffalabelfromthis
strip.Applyhalfofthislabeltotheend
ofthestripandtheotherhalftotheend
oftheribbon.Thisactsasaribbon
leader.
6.Threadtheribbon(withleader,ifused)asshownwithoutcreasingor
wrinklingit.
