NOTE: When using “HOT” solvents, replace Viton o-
ring (#8) with alternate PTFE o-ring (P/N 700-
897). Install with o-ring tool (P/N 700-890).
Servicing/Replacing the PRIME/SPRAY Valve
1. Remove the dowel pin (13) from PRIME/SPRAY valve
handle (14).
2. Remove the PRIME/SPRAY valve handle (14) and the
cam base (12).
3. Using a wrench, loosen the valve housing (7) and
remove. Inspect the two valve o-rings (5 and 6).
4. Unscrew valve retainer (11) and remove the valve stem (9).
5. Inspect the ball on end of the valve stem (9) and seat,
located in the valve housing (7). Clean or replace if
damaged. Inspect the stem o-ring (8).
6. When reinstalling, screw the completed assembly into the
filter block (17) except for items 12, 13, and 14. Tighten
securely with a wrench. Make sure that the valve gasket
(4) is in place.
7. Install the cam base (12) over the valve retainer (11),
lubricate with grease. Line up the cam base with the filter
block (17).
8. Using the dowel pin (13), line up the valve stem (9) with
the hole on the PRIME/SPRAY valve handle (14). Secure
the PRIME/SPRAY valve handle with the dowel pin.
Replacing the Pump Filter
1. Unscrew filter housing (1).
2. Unscrew the filter (2) from the filter block (17) (left-handed
thread, turn the filter clockwise to remove). If the filter
breaks off, use a small wood screw to remove.
3. Inspect the filter seal (3). Clean or replace.
4. Thread the new or cleaned filter (2) into the filter block
(17). Turn counterclockwise until secure.
5. Thread the filter housing (1) into the filter block and
tighten securely.
IMPORTANT: If the PRIME/SPRAY valve handle (14)
rotates 360°, make sure the pin on the cam base (12) is
in the hole on the filter block (17).
