CLEANING
Disconnect the appliance from the mains before
cleaning.
Unclip the operating lever and magnetic lid
holder from the main body of the can opener for
cleaning and wash in warm, soapy water.
The body of the appliance can be wiped clean
with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or
scouring creams.

After one rotation, when the can lid has •
been completely cut from the can, raise the
operating lever slightly.
The motor will stop.
Hold the can and raise the operating lever to •
the vertical position.
Lift the can away from the opener and the lid •
will be retained by the magnetic lid holder.
Carefully remove the cut lid from the magnetic •
lid holder.
CAUTION: The edges of the lid will be sharp.
Disconnect the can opener from the mains •
when you are nished.
Sharpening a knife:
Prepare the knives that you want to sharpen. •
The knives should be clean and not serrated
(the sharpener will not sharpen serrated
knives).
Raise the operating lever.•
Plug the can opener into the mains. Switch on •
the mains supply.
Hold the operating lever down and steady the •
can opener with your left hand.
The motor will start.
Holding the knife handle with your right hand, •
draw the knife slowly towards you through
the left hand knife sharpening slot. There is
no need to press down on the blade.
OPERATION
Opening a can:
Raise the operating lever.•
Plug the can opener into the mains. Switch on •
the mains supply.
Steadying the can opener with the right hand, •
hold the can against the drive wheel and lift it
until it touches the metal stop pin (circled).

Lower the operating lever slowly, ensuring •
that the piercing blade passes over the rim
onto the top of the can.
Press the operating lever down further. •
The top of the can will be pierced, the motor will start
to run and the drive wheel will rotate the can.
Repeat the above step, drawing the knife •
through the right hand knife sharpening slot.
Repeat the previous two steps three or four •
times until the knife is sharp.
When you have nished sharpening, lift the •
operating lever.
The motor will stop.
Disconnect the can opener from the mains •
when you are nished.
Wash sharpened knives before use.•
Sharpening scissors:
Follow the procedure for sharpening knives, •
but draw each blade of the scissors towards
you through the scissor sharpening slot on
the side of the sharpener.
AFTER USE
After using the can opener or knife sharpener,
disconnect it from the mains, clean the appliance
and tuck the mains lead into the storage pocket.
Store it securely out of the reach of children.
