Question About Tricity Bendix Washer b1053x aus
Please help find the manual for this Tricity Bendix Front-Load Washer...

Not even halfway through the cycle, the machine starts to spin slowly and the control dial continuously clicks around. This will continue until the machine is manually stopped - the clothes are not fully washed, and are still very wet.

5 had the same issue with the program control knob rotating. Spoke to the local service agent and ended up buying a new controller unit. Installed it and no difference. Read the above comment, pulled apart the control knob assembly (its easy) and cleaned the contacts with a circuit cleaner and presto, fixed. Thanks!

2 you will have to take the top lid off to get access to the back of the program control knob. the switch gear needs cleaning. you need a product from a electronics shop, its a cleaner/lubricator (not wd40 or crc) spray it into the switch mechanisam as you turn the switch a number of times in a clockwise direction. spray into as many openings as you can. I had the same problem and this fixed it, that was 2 years ago and still no problem. good luck. michael

1 Have the same problem in Feb 09. Tech called and $120 later advised us it was cheaper to buy a new machine. He advised that a bracket has leaked on to the motor and shorted out the rear of the motor. A week later, I got under the machine to confirm that this bracket does leak, and that it is a definite design flaw, and as such is unacceptable, but it is 7 years old. So my problem, apparently. The repair firm tech suggested we buy a "Candy" machine from his firm and spoke highly of its value for money. Hrmph! After playing with my machine and checking that everything else including the electrics looks fine, I have restarted the machine with no spin and on max heat. The motor initially appeared to work, but then the endless cllicking came on. Do you still have the problem with your B1053X? My thoughts are now that the connections, or the motor was in fact wet and that was causing a limited short. The short would stop the motor and that would then result in some feedback to the dial to move to the next aspect of the cycle. I mean there must be some manner of feedback since the dial does actually move during a normal wash. So the short cirecuited motor is probably a valid cause. So, do you still have a problem?

0 I brought my machine in 2001. On 2nd of March 2009. It start to have the exact same issue that was described by the other two. The machine appears to start a cycle where the machine fills up with water then the control dial clicks around continuously. The water flows out and the clothes are not washed and left very wet. The machine can only be stopped if stopped manually. I cannot find the manual. Can the machine be reset in anyway? Or is it really a design flaw that cannot be repaired easily?

0 Unless Bendix creates an actual website where self-help in the form of manuals and FAQs can be found about their products. It will probably be impossible to fix our issue. Time to buy another brand I think. elena_meehan I think unless you can fix it yourself. Get a new machine.

0 yep agree with the cleaning using electronic contact cleaner (no oil!)..sprayed it on the wipe contacts inside the controller and badda bing..problem gone.. things were starting to smell around here... thanks guys !!

0 Exactly the same problem and we were advised that the repair would be $540, suggetes to better buy a Candy machine for $950. I will try the lubricator. it lasted only 8 years

0 My Bendix died yesterday, I purchased it in 2001, it had exactly the same problem as described above, the dial clicked around and around, reset the cycle, it washed ok but then just whirred when it got around to the rinse. I had to take the lid off and unhook the door manually. I don't think I will get it repaired as 11 years is such a good run. Not sure which brand I'll get next but when I had my Bendix serviced the Candy had been suggested.
