How do you get something off that has been burned ...

How do you get something off that has been burned onto the iron plate? I have a Toastmaster 3305. Also, please send me a manual at no charge. Jo Ann Adams 2401 Pennsylvania Avenue 15C52 Phila., PA 19130 Thank you.
