Can you tell me how to reset to washing after dryi...

Can you tell me how to reset to washing after drying? I always have this problem after drying - the machine won't go back to washing until the drying cycle is complete. I have tried setting the drying time to zero and also switching the appliance off and on at tha mains with no luck.. Thanks.
