my shark iron is always plugged in due to the auto...

my shark iron is always plugged in due to the auto shut off feature. One day all the lights started flashing and will not heat up at all! unplugged the unit for a couple of days, plugged it back in and it's doing the same thing! Also, I use this iron almost daily, so I constantly add water to it, and now the water is rusty too! Piece of ----!!!
