My iron is only 3 months old. After less than a m...

My iron is only 3 months old. After less than a minute of ironing on cotten...iron shuts down and the green light for polyester and wool/silk keeps blinking. The heat shuts off as well. I have to reset it by unplugging it or it wont work. I have repeatedly cleaned it and it doesnt help at all. What should I do?
