5 Yes it is ! I finally solved my problem by buying a new bushing shaft for my Samsung Dv 4015J dryer. The old one (with metal ring inside the platic block) was reaplaced by a new one totally made of teflon platic. I could find this part under the Maytag/ whirlpool brand. Samsung/Maytag/whirpool finnaly listened and responded to the clients complains about this part of the machine that was really crappy.

3 I recently replaced the rear drum bearing on this dryer, and once you find the part, the change is a snap. The dryer actually uses Whirlpool parts, and the rear bearing is just a plastic bushing that the shaft of the drum rides in. It is accessible behind a small cover on the rear of the machine. Pop the top off the machine (so you will be able to support the drum, to remove the old bushing), remove the five Robertson screws holding the rear cover and bushing in place, remove c-clip at end of shaft, remove old bushing. After applying some high quality lube (I used a molybdenum based product), reverse assemble, and enjoy the now quiet machine. In my case, a "tensioner spring" on the end of the drum shaft had disintegrated, likely causing much of the noise, as fragments entered the bushing. I intend to inquire as to the need of the spring, and if necessary, it's an easy addition.

0 Sorry, I forgot to mention, the part # is 35001012, made by Whirlpool, FSP on the bag.

0 The shaft is scored.Replacing the bearing would only be a temp. fix. Anyone know where a shaft can be got? Parts book shows it as part of the drum but it is bolted to the drum.

0 Appears to be the same dryer as Samsung and I came up with the same results. Bushing is available but shaft and flange are part of drum. Although the shaft is actually bolted to the drum. My cost would be $337. Dryer cost new less than $500. For an appliance that is 2 years old this would be not practical to fix.I need help on this one.

0 Same bearing problem with my samsung DV4015J. But my plastic bearing has a metal bushing in its center. This bushing is so used that the sound the dryer made was horrible, like a terrified squirrel! I checked for a replacement bearing according to the whirpool references, but i can see that this bearing doesn't have any metal bushing in the middle. Does this mean that Maytag / Whirpool / Samsung changed the old bushing metal model with that was really crappy with this new plastic one ?
