I am in need of some assistance...Our Roper washer...

I am in need of some assistance...Our Roper washer will not spin and the belt seems tight. The model is: rtw 4640yq. When the problem originally started we could get it to spin by pressing the start/pause button twice. Bad switch, or something else?
