Question About Philips Iron GC8300
The cable connecting the water tank to the iron on...

The cable connecting the water tank to the iron on my GC8300 has frayed, so much so that the current-carrying live wire has fractured. This led to a short circuit,the cable now having burnt out at the site of the fracture, the plug fuse fortunately having blown in the process. Is a repair possible or is the iron a write-off?
