i have a 35# machine and at this time I cannot ope...

i have a 35# machine and at this time I cannot open the door.. no power and this is the third time it has occured. I'm 500 miles to nearest service center and would like to try to repair at minimal cost. I don't believe it is the inverter. any ideas
