My Elite Iron plate does not light up when switche...

My Elite Iron plate does not light up when switched on from main unit the light on iron remains not lit for quite some time and the plate is cold it is not until the steam pressure starts to rise that by pressing the steam release then the light comes and the plate then starts to warm up
