Question About Maytag Clothes Dryer DG303
timer advances too quickly....

My Maytag DG303 dryer's timer advances too quickly. I have checked, and the flame is on, however the dryer shuts off after only about 15 minutes of drying time. I have to keep readjusting the timer numerous times to get the clothes to dry in about 1-1 1/2 hours.
