Pump won't drain. Drained water twice thru drain and cleaned that area out.Where's the pump? do I have to turn the washer upside down to replace?

5 I had the same problem. I disconnected the fill hoses for the repairs and drained the washer using the little tube in front. Then I got to the hoses and pump assembly from below by tipping the washer on its side. No need to remove the plastic base. To test the pump, with the washer upright, just put about a pint of water in the front door by hand. Then, if the pump doesn’t work you don’t have so much to drain out the little tube.

5 This code means that something is blocking either the water drain pipe, pump filter or the pump itself. I had the same problem and removing the filter (as recommended by LG) did not help. It turned out I had a piece of debris stuck in the pump propeller itself and consequently the water would not drain and the wash would not finish, prompting the error. This is what I did to fix the problem. 1. I removed the cover on the left bottom corner and the removed the filter and unhooked the little rubber tube (drain). 2. I removed the pump cover (lower left corner of the washing machine) and unscrewed 3 screws holding the pump from the front. 3. I disconnected the power supply and removed the back panel (attached with 4 screws) 4. Disconnected the two hoses (one black, one gray) from the pump. 5. Disconnected the power supply to the pump (I had to cut a plastic tie holding the connector in place in order to bring the connector closer so I can disconnect it). 6. Removed the pump by pressing a little tab that was holding it from the back. 7. Once I removed the pump from the washing machine, I took three screws out of the pump motor, gaining access to the propeller. This is where I found a little piece of plastic. Apparently propeller couldn't spin because of that obstruction. 8. I put the pump back together and attached the hoses. This is easier to do when you have the pump closer to the back opening of the washing machine. 9. I then connected the pump power supply connector, locked the pump back in its place and replaced the screws. The total repair took less than 45 minutes. The hardest part was to remove and replace the drain tube springs, because I did not have the right pliers (You need decent size pliers or plenty of strength in your hands to squeeze the metal bands). The tools you need for this repair are: a philips and flat screwdrivers, large pliers and a sharp knife (to cut a plastic tie)

0 As said above no need to disconnect discharge hoses when accessed from bottom. Deffinately unplug from electrical outlet. Even as a licensed electrician, being a cool guy did not, and found while laying on wet concrete floor there is still power to the brown and blue wire. (What an idiot!!! :-o)

0 Is this OK to do with a front loader? It show I have worked on top loads. Worried about messing up that drum. I wouldn't move a fro t loader without reinstalling the shipping bolts . To, RE: WM1812CW fix My front loader is located in a wooden cabinet, don't have easy access. Does the back just unscrew? The service manual doesn't show this. Want to just pull it once replace the drain hose that split at a bend to the drain, and the black drain tube that seems 100% clogged. Thanks

0 Typing in on an iPad, doesn't allow scrolling back to see what I typed. About, it shows.., should have been, This, tipping, is how I have worked on top loads.

0 I had the same problem. Thanks to the person who listed the nine steps. I was sure the fix couldn't be that easy, but bam! There was the mangled bobby pin culprit. Free fixes are the best!
