The machine would occasionaly stop after washing. It turned out to be the pump not starting, by manually draining the machine it would then go onto the spin cycle with variable results (sometimes go, sometimes stop). I stripped the pump motor and cleaned out a heap of revolting black sludge and freed up the lost motion action in the impeller and everything works like new. It also cured the stagnant water smell when it pumps out. The removal sequence is as follows:- remove the spring loaded wire on the rubber bellows and push it off, remove the 2 screws on the door catch and let it drop inside, take the door off the lint filter and undo the screws, pop the lower trim off (after you have drained the filter), remove the detergent tray and take out the lower RH screw, remove the 3 screws on the bottom if the front pannel, drop it down (about 10 mm) and remove it. You can then access the pump, remove the suction and discharge pipes and 2 electrical clips, remove the 3 screws at the front of the pump and move it back and out. Three screws attach the motor/impeller to the pump body take them out and seperate them, the impeller and permenent magnet armature can then be pulled out, watch out for the black smelly sludge which will go everywhere. Wash it clean with water, make sure the impeller is free to turn about 90 degrees on the shaft (if it is tight sometimes the pump will not start). Then put everything back together in the reverse order, Make sure the inner O ring on the impeller end bearing is sitting in the correct position before you push it back into the body. The bearing (bushes) are a bit worn after 9 years which is why the motor was full of water and releasing some of the peutrid brew back into the discharge water on each pump out cycle. In hindsight the pump has been signaling that it was in need of some TLC for the last few years, it was making some horrible noises which I thought were coming from the bowl.
