My Kitchen Aid superba whisper light washing machi...

My Kitchen Aid superba whisper light washing machine knob just spins and spins- it won't click or, obviously, select a cycle. I lifted up the front panel and removed the round motor assembly, but can't get at the mechanism to see what's wrong. Any suggestions?
