KB-9188E1 iron. Auto shut off light comes on when ...

KB-9188E1 iron. Auto shut off light comes on when switched on but power light not coming on. I have had this problem since the iron was new. I started using my old iron again. Tried the Kenwood again but I am still having the same problem.
