I am unable to turn off the child lock - I did not...

I am unable to turn off the child lock - I did not turn it on myself. The symbol appeared at the end of the last wash cycle and now everything is jammed and I am unable to re-programme for my next load. Have tried turning it on/off but no joy. Any ideas?
