I have noticed increasing lint in washes for an IW...

I have noticed increasing lint in washes for an IWD 7145K. What can I do about it? In one wash, I washed just a old jacket (3 years old) old there was significant white lint on it. In another wash there was a lot of blue lint. There are not new clothes and I have been using this unit for two years without a problem.
