A hotpont BWD129 washer dryer appears stuck at the rinse phase of the cycle, though no motors run (neither the drain pump or main drum motor). The wash and rinse LEDs are on solid when the door is closed. Also the door is locked. However, the machine has been drained and has no water in it. There seems no way to reset the controller, none of the controls appear to do anything. Disconnecting the machine from the mains eventually allows the door to be opened (when the interlock releases). I tested the water level switch by blowing into it. The drain pump appears to have a sensible SC resistance. Is it most likely that the controller is faulty? Are there any tests I could do to prove that?

0 Problem solved. It turns out that the water temperature sensor was faulty. The clue was that previous washes had overheated the water. The faulty sensor caused the controller to freeze at the rinse cycle.
