Question About Hotpoint Clothes Dryer CTD00
BELT CHANGE ?...

if the dryer is empty it will turn ,if you put anything in it trys to turn but wont, i have taken top off and when i put a load in i have to start the drum moving by hand, once running it is fine

0 Capacitor u/s-this cylindrical part next to the motor gives the phase difference to the windings to give it a "boost/kick" to turn the drum.Power off please and remember this part stores a charge so even with power off it can give you a shock-power off wait 15 mins approx.Uf rating on capacitor-probably a 7 uf cap.
