I have gibson mod GRT18C6A that will not keep the refrig. portion cold. freezer is Ok. Appears to be frosted up in the air passage between the freezer and lower portion. I can not adjust the damper in the freezer. I suspect the defrost system is not working.

0 I appreciate your inquiry, lawrenjs! From my understanding your Gibson refrigerator is not staying cold in the fresh food side and it is frosting inside of the freezer. The frost could be a problem with your gasket not sealing properly. You can check your gasket by using a dollar bill. Place the bill between the door and the freezer and pull it out, if it provides you slight resistance then the gasket is good. If the bill falls out then you may need to replace the gasket. The fresh food side not keeping cool could be a possible problem with your thermostat or damper. I would recommend performing a reset on your refrigerator and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. If that does not help correct your issue I would suggest contacting a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful. –OOS
