pants caught under the agitator and can't be pulled out caught on something under it, Can the agitatior be unlocked to lift and remove the garment

5 On the top of your agitator there should be a removable cap. Pry this cap off with a flat head screwdriver. Underneath you'll see a nut that you can unscrew. This will free the agitator and you should be able to just lift it up. Mind the "dog ears," When replacing the agitator. I take pictures before disassembling something so I have a reference when I'm reassembling. It's very easy to do, though.
