Start switch hums, not starting...

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Series Model #:GLER642AS3. When I turn the start switch, the console hums. The light inside works, but the drum will not turn. Can you tell me where to start looking to repair it myself? Thanks! His Crusader, ~marie~
