Why does the spin cycle spin water so hard and fast that the water is thrown between the basket and the inner walls of the washer, thus pouring the water into the floor, even if I put the washer half full of clothing and put the spin cycle on medium? The machine is perfectly level and the wash load is balanced.

0 There is probably either a problem with your discharge pump or a sock (etc.) stuck in the hose that leads to the discharge pump. Water is not draining fast enough so it rides up the sides in top loading machines. Though i know nothing about your machine if i was to look at it i would put it in spin and observe the pump or valve that allows the water to escape with a flashlight. It is often obvious but not always. There are some crappy electric pumps out there these days; as many maytag and kenmore front loading machine owners can attest. However it is just as likely to be a piece of clothing that somehow made it's way between the wash basket and tub and has lodged in the hose that comes from the tub and goes to the pump. Sometimes you can feel it by squeezing the hose. Usually you can grab it with something and pull it free; but beware there will be water, oh yes, there will be water.
