Defy Tumbledryer heats up and hums like normal but...

Defy Tumbledryer heats up and hums like normal but the drum does not turn. The belt is intact and when the door is closed the fan does move initially, then stops. Defy Service Centre tells me al of the Morot, pulley, fan and capacator must be replaced!! Surely not both the capacator AND Motor??? And why the fan?
