how high can you fill washer with clothes. will it...

how high can you fill washer with clothes. will it hurt or damage the washer to fill up to the top of middle white cylynder. In other words is there a maximum amount of clothes that should be put into the washer . If the clothes fit into the washer and do not go over the middle white cylinder etc , is that OK??? (if you use heavy load setting)???
