Squeeling sounds like a main bearing. Is this replaceable or might it be a new belt required

Product Problem: Door Catch Assembly

I have a broken door catch assembly and I notice there is an un-used one on the opposite end of the reversible door. Do these just pop out or do I have to disassemble the door? I it ok just to move the un-used one over to the other side?

Latest post, made on 2009-10-31 11:15:08
But you have to disassemble the door. Ours was under warranty when the latch first broke--the repairman did just that--he took the other latch and switched them. Now, some months later, the second latch has broken/come loose from within. Not under warranty. Thanks for the sturdy construction, Whirlpool engineers! This is a shame!
