Problem Possible cause Remedy
Drying is
taking too long,
or the
programme
has been
cancelled
The dryer is not working
efficiently or economically*.
The most likely cause is a
build-up of fluff, hair or
detergent residue on the fluff
filters.
–
Remove any fluff, hair or
residual detergent.
–
Rinse the filters if necessary
and then dry them
thoroughly before replacing
them.
If not thoroughly dry faults
will occur.
–
If the above measures do
not remedy the problem
follow the advice below.
Ventilation to and from the
dryer may be insufficient (e.g
because it is installed in a
small room). This has caused
the temperature in the room to
rise sharply.
–
Open a door or window
while the tumble dryer is in
operation for increased air
flow.
The vents below the door are
blocked.
– Remove any objects that
are blocking the vents.
Detergent residue, hair and
fine fibres can block the
condenser unit.
– Check the condenser unit
from time to time and clean
it if necessary (see
"Cleaning and Care").
The laundry has not been
spun sufficiently.
–
Make sure that your laundry
is thoroughly spun at the
appropriate spin speed.
The tumble dryer has been
overloaded.
–
Do not exceed the
maximum load for the
programme selected.
Metallic components, e.g. zips
have prevented the dryer from
registering the correct
moisture level in the laundry.
–
Open zips next time.
–
If the problem occurs again,
dry garments with long zips
using "Warm air" (timed
drying).
* Before attempting to remedy the problem:
–
Open and close the door.
–
Switch the dryer off and then on again to start a programme.
