Haier Compact Dryer HDY6-1

We used this dryer to dry sheets, and after one hour, the sheets were still wet and the screen indicated E-2. There was no water in the plastic tube either. We bought this dryer in June, 2008. We don't know what to do. The manual says to contact a service professional. We live in Germany. Should this still be under the guarantee? And, really, it should not break so quickly.
