Member Discussion on Kenmore Clothes Dryer

no heat

My dryer will tumble, but over a period of time I noticed it was taking longer and longer for the clothes to dry. Now, there is no heat and the timer dial does not turn and the dryer will not shut off on its own... what's wrong?

I have the same problem. I've had mine for 15 years now. I've got everything but the wiring schematic, LIT3394594, and it's the one thing I need the most. I tried to use the air dry setting, but the timer never moved after almost an hour of operation. I'm going to look at the following devices. (Temp Sw), (Internal Bias Therostat), (Thermal Fuse), (Thermal Cutoff, Hi Limit), (Thermostat, 250 deg). If you've found the solution please let me know. Thanks.

You may have an open heating element. While your at it check your 3 position heat selector for any opens too. The selector is NLA so if it's bad it's game over unless you want to spend the money on a rebuilt one.
