The soap dispenser will not open. It is as though...

The soap dispenser will not open. It is as though it is locked or something is hung up inside. Has happened a few times recently but would always eventually open. But now it won't open at all.

1 had the same problem, we found the container warped and needed to remove the top of washer unit to remove container and trim the plastic.
