My husband was able to locate our owner's manual, but it provided no help. We got daring and figured out how to remove the kick plate. There are two clips at the top of the kick plate. Using a screwdriver, we were able to push down on the clips, which allowed us to easily remove kick plate. I was able to clean out some lint that was in the main case, but that wasn't the source of my problems. I had to remove two hex screws in order to remove the black casing that starts at the base of the lint trap and curves down to some sort of fan. There was a fairly large build-up of lint in this black casing and some lint build-up on the fan. I vacuumed the lint off of these parts and put everything back together. I ran the dryer for one load of clothes, and so far I haven't gotten the burning rubber smell.
