If it's a gas dryer, your gas may not be igniting because of a faulty "thermocouple". Also, if it's gas, the Gas Company will come out and analyse the problem for free (at least they do around here).
Is it the type of dryer that has a pilot light? If so, is it lit? If it's lit and the main burner is not coming on, I would replace the thermocouple (not expensive). They are good for about 10 to 15 years. Available at all the applience parts stores (helps if you know the make and model #) or large hardware stores. Usually an easy job with a small set of open end wrenches.

dryer stop running,in the past i replace a switch because the dryer would run continously , even when you set the timer it would by past the estimated pre set time, and continue to run.Now when i press the start button it just makes a hummon sound and won't start. What ideas do you have to correct this promble.
