  Have the same thing called the local whirlpool repair said it was the controller but it was not cost of part $160 from inline $300 from certified whoolpool repair

  I Took the lid off the dryer, removed the top to the tub, and looked between the tub and basket. A towel was tightly jamed between them binding their movement, "Spinning". So after having the "Certified " Whirlpool tech look at the unit and want to order a $300 item I pulled the rag out and it worked. Hopefully I can send the $160 part back.

  The noise is the basket lifting over the transfer unit that allows a stuck basket not rip out the transmission. So check for towels between the basket & tub
