We had the same problem on December 31. Someone from where we bought it finally came out and said it was the timer. Electricity was not getting from it to the water valve. They are jerking us around and saying the part is on backorder--meantime I called Whirlpool and they said they have 180,000+ of them available.
My washer is only 3 years old and I am disgusted. Why bother buying a nice washer if it's going to tank 3 years after you buy it? Next washer I get will be the cheapest kind available and just replace when it breaks. It's going to cost us $150 to fix this one. ($80 for the timer and $70 in service).
